Why is LTP() not updating? expand_more

Live formulas only update during market hours (9:15 AM – 3:30 PM IST, Monday–Friday). Outside these hours, the last known value is displayed. Also check that your TrueData subscription is active and the symbol is correctly spelled.

My formula shows #ERROR or #VALUE — what does it mean? expand_more

#ERROR usually means the symbol wasn't found or is incorrectly entered. Check the symbol is a valid NSE/BSE/MCX name. #VALUE means the formula received the wrong data type — ensure you're referencing a cell with a text symbol, not a number.

Can I use cell references instead of typing the symbol directly? expand_more

Yes — this is the recommended approach. Type your symbol in A1, then use =LTP(A1) instead of =LTP("TCS"). This lets you change one cell to update all formulas referencing it.

How often does live data refresh? expand_more

Live market data refreshes on every tick. The exact frequency depends on market activity for that symbol.

Does Bar Streaming work for historical data too? expand_more

Yes. When you start Bar Streaming with a past start date, all completed bars from that date replay first, then live bars are appended as they form. Closing the sheet stops the stream.

Can I export live data? What gets exported? expand_more

Yes. When you export to .xlsx or .json, the current snapshot values of all cells are exported — not the formulas. Live formulas are replaced with their last computed value at the time of export.

Is my data secure? Who can see my sheets? expand_more

Your sheets are private and isolated per session. No other user can access your data. TrueData does not share your spreadsheet data with third parties.

Can I undo changes after auto-save? expand_more

Yes. Auto-save saves your work continuously, but Ctrl+Z undo works within your current session. If you close and reopen, the last saved state is restored.

Why do some cells show stale data after market close? expand_more

After 3:30 PM IST, live formulas freeze at the closing tick value. This is expected behaviour — the values shown are the final prices from that trading session.
